And now for another exciting episode of "Andy's Equine Antics"...
I now have a huge (and still very tender) welt on the underside of my forearm, just below the elbow. Saturday, at feeding time, the horses were all tied up but the donkey was feeling frisky. I grabbed him by the halter to lead him to where he gets tied up (and to get him out of the horses' business), and he jumped up to try and mount me! I yanked down on his halter, and the little fucker bit me! Hard! Sophia tried, and he did the same thing to her, but she knew to give him a few stern well aimed whacks before he could bite her. Suddenly, he was very well behaved.
Sometimes I fear that girl. :-)

I'm cat-sitting for a friend of the family's while she's on vacation. I stopped by her place in this tiny mulletville town about 20 minutes away from Troy to top off the cats' food and water, and to scoop their litter box. As I headed out of town I noticed tons of cars parked on the streets. I figured there must be fireworks about to go on, so on a whim I stopped. Lucky for me! I ended up with 77 awesome photos, mostly taken with the camera hand held. Here's a small portion of them:
