this shot would be cooler in black and white, with the contrast jumped up. try it out in photoshop. :)
and it'd be an awesome monochromatic shot in the winter, early on a dark morning after a fresh showfall, with the neon light shining in the darkness or something.
i think your town could be fun with moody shots in the winter.
there's another awesome trick i've learned in photoshop, that i did on the most recent car shots, and that's fading a desaturate...
if you don't know it, it'd be awesome on something like this. the effect is that of colourised black & white shots. this pic has that old-town feel and it might be nice on it.
you go under image, to adjustments, and click on desaturate. it looks black and white, but it's reset the colour count to zero. you now go under edit and select "fade desaturate" and make sure you have "preview" selected first. now just fade it out a bit.
i've usually gone for 65-80% for nostalgic shots, but there's this awesome photo i should show post soon of an outdoor pool in the city, and it's faded in just enough to see the aqua blue of the pool and skintone and nothing else. tres cool.
actually, i'll email you that. for some reason i don't want to post it.
i'm loving photoshop! whee!
