Next quarter starts next week. I can hardly wait!

---

"And I'm headed out west sucker, 'cause I wanna be a Cowboy, baby, with the top let back and the sunshine shinin'!"

Finally got up on horseback Saturday. Sophia showed me how to properly groom the horse's fur, and then put a saddle on. In anticipation, on the way to her place I stopped at a store called "Boot Country" in Vandalia and bought a cowboy hat. Yes, a cowboy hat. It looks half ridiculous given how totally suburban I am, and yet oddly fashionable with combat boots and tie-dye.

The ride went well. I stayed in the round pen and got Ebony up to a trot several times. Too bad the stirrups were just a hair too long. Even when standing, the severe bounce of the trot was a little abusive on "the boys". But, all in all, it was a great learning experience... and one helluva workout. Horse riding is exhausting!

A week or so ago, I snapped these morning pictures while Sophie was in the shower getting ready for work:

Seems like you life is pretty good right now.
I love horses and was amazed to realize that they can be very affectionate.
Have fun and enjoy this.

Nan - Oh, they're like big puppies, only with slightly smart-assy attitudes at times. :-)

Shutterbug - I'll post a photo. With the hair down, I kinda look like a country singer.

*blarf!*
