If you are a pharmacist, and you deny women their legally and properly prescribed medications because you are holier-than-thou, YOU HAVE NO PLACE IN THE PHARMACY.
So some states allow pharmacists to decide at will what they will and won't give to people for medical complaints....
Is it me, or is that utterly ridiculous? I thought doctors got to make the prescriptions.
That girl really should've gone to another pharmacy quickly, going and crying and then trying the same place again much later was possibly not the best idea.
This happened at an Ekerd's (now CVS) by my school. There just happens to be a Walgreens across the street, so the girl went there. Ekerd's stood behind the pharmacists decision. Evidently pharmasists can decide what they want to fill, but Ekerd said they would have rather the pharmacist had a tech fill it, instead of refusing the girl's service entirely. The girl was a student at Texas Woman's University (my school) and you can imagine they made a huge stink about the whole thing...women's rights, freedom of choice, etc.

Is a pharmacist allowed to withhold prescribed medicine? I'm sure that would come under gross negligence. :S
Is this contraceptive related?
Yes, and here's a link to an article about it.
