Talk to me Goose

There is a commercial that I've seen three or four times now, but I'm having trouble getting it. It starts as a pretty standard car commercial with it zipping through city streets, but then at the very end it says "Who says your wing man can't be a machine?" Is this a referece to Top Gun? As in the wing man is the dude who'll protect you in a dogfight, so the advertised car will keep you safe in the event of a wreck? Considering how old Top Gun is, and they weren't making any other references, like playing "Danger Zone" or anything, I have to say that's a bit of a stretch.

I have been getting a real kick out of those Chevrolet commercials where their new car keeps teasing the Corvette, playing on sibling rivalry. Those are a real hoot. :-)

....the chevy ones where they all drive up on a car transport while its moving...and the last one backs up on it while its moving...even better. Isn't it sad when a commercial is better than a lot of regular tv...

'Wing man' is a standard phrase, meaning the same as 'righthand man', 'number one' (trekkie ref :$), 'chargehand', etc...

Just means the person helping you out, keeping you safe. So not just a Top Gun reference I hope, LOL ;)

My fav commercial right now is the citibank rewards one with the three guys biking. Really it's two guys biking and one dud pretending like he's on a bike. Hilarious.
Also, have you not been eating as much Chinese food lately? Miss the fortunes...

Orb: Ok, I get it now. That's pretty weak on the car company's part.

Texas: I know, then he trips and lands flat on his face. The visual icing on the cake is how he slides a foot or two. :-) The other Citibank kicker is the one about the dude with no suitcases, so his wife keeps layering outfit upon outfit on him until he can't even bend over to kiss her. I loved that one.
