2 for 1
Last night's fortune cookies. I ate two. Strangely enough they go hand-in-hand:
"The hard times will begin to fade, joy will take their place."
-and-
"You will be successful someday."
I think my emotions are being toyed with. Damned fortune cookie gods.

Well either you're being smiled on heavily, or the restaurant is trying subliminal advertising.
"Our restaurant is a happy place; your future will be better because you ate here; keep coming here for continued happiness." - ah, the cynic.
Yeah, you don't find any that say: 'death is in your future' or 'Your worries were warranted'.
No subliminal ads needed. Family Garden has the best damned Chinese takeout I've ever had. Not to mention Linda, who works the counter, is as spunky and adorable as a puppy.
(and the string of interesting fortunes has ended. I've only been getting the generic ones lately. dammit.)
Hmm, I have a Chinese near me called Family Garden. That's pretty good too, although I rarely have any take-away food these days. My food regime doesn't go down well with restaurants.
Chefs cry when you tell them.
